Three women sit on a sofa discussing the book they are currently reading.

Following the success of its children’s book clubs, Reading Force is now looking for volunteer coordinators to set up book clubs for adults in Armed Forces and Veteran communities.

Some of the charity’s book clubs are online, others are meeting in person, and several are choosing to continue beyond the three free books from Reading Force.

“A book club can help people feel more part of their community, building a strong sense of connection and reducing feelings of isolation.”

Reading Force

A book club can help people feel more part of their community, building a strong sense of connection and reducing feelings of isolation. Reading the same book can also connect people for longer than a telephone call or chat online. Book clubs are a great way to have fun.

Reading Force offers a selection of free books available to its members. Choose from a range of award-winning titles and authors including multi-award-winning Eleanor Oliphant is Completely Fine by Gail Honeyman, Grown Ups by Marian Keyes, British Book Awards Author of the Year 2022, or Waterstones Book Club choice The Unexpected Inheritance of Inspector Chopra by Vaseem Khan.
