Have your say on Armed Forces housing

An Independent Defence Housing Strategy Review team is looking for Forces families to share their thoughts on Military housing.

The Future Defence Housing Questionnaire gives all serving personnel and their families a rare opportunity to share their views on Service Family Accommodation (SFA). The feedback will directly inform recommendations to Ministers and Ministry of Defence (MoD) leadership, helping to build the Defence Housing Strategy that is due to be published later this year.

However, there is no time to waste as the survey closes on 22 June 2025.

The questionnaire is being run by Army Families Federation (AFF), with the Naval, Army and RAF Families Federations fully involved in the work.

A spokesperson for AFF noted: “It [the questionnaire] is longer than usual because it covers these three key areas in detail, but every question you answer brings us closer to solutions that reflect your needs, preferences and lived experiences.

“If you are posted overseas, your views still matter. Work is being undertaken to understand the particular challenges and opportunities around overseas housing – your evidence and experiences on UK housing are crucial at this stage.

“Every response strengthens the case for meaningful improvements.”
