Central Event: Educators Sharing Good Practice

Our second Educators – Sharing Good Practice event is heading to Edinburgh.

The central belt education event will take place on Tuesday, 26 November at Edinburgh Napier University, the Centre for Military Research, Education and Public Engagement.

The one-day session will provide an opportunity to:

  • Share ideas, information and challenges with colleagues
  • Learn more about Armed Forces families (Serving and Veterans)
  • Reflect on current practice, professional development and forward planning
  • Discuss how we engage with parents, families and children to support their learning journeys.

Attendees will also reflect on current practice, professional development and forward planning.

There is also a chance to add value to research on children from Armed Forces families with additional support needs (ASN) and the impact of mobility. This research is being undertaken by the Centre for Military Research Education and Public Engagement – Edinburgh Napier University, in partnership with ADES.

This Forces Children’s Education event is hosted by Edinburgh Napier University and ADES (the Association for Directors of Education in Scotland), working in collaboration with Education Scotland, the Scottish Government (Scottish Armed Forces Education Support Group – SAFESG) and Edinburgh Napier University’s the Centre for Military Research, Education, and Public Engagement.

This Educators Sharing Good Practice is the second of two events. The first was held in Aberdeenshire in September. You can read more about the north event here.

A coherent package of outcomes, recommendations and information from both events will be circulated at the end of the year.
